Get involved

Making a BusyTree puppet and taking a video or photo of yourself hanging out with your tree is an easy and fun way to show your support! Signing our petition is also good (hint, hint), but there are plenty of other ways you can show your support.

Travelling the world?

Plant more trees - says Jenny from London (UK)

Are you about to set off on an around the world tour? Or are you reading this while you’re on the road around Europe or South East Asia? If so, then download Max here and take some pics of yourself with him – we’d love to see your regular updates in support of BusyTrees.

Hit the stage

If you’re a performer, entertainer or artist, agroforestry would make a great subject. Write a play, direct a film, put on a show, create a dance or write a song. If you’re a painter, sketcher sculptor, photographer, street or digital artist, using agroforestry as your subject matter would make for a moving and informative piece. Get behind agroforestry and make an importantstatement in your artwork.

An A+ assignment

Whether you’re at university or school, agroforestry is an excellent assignment topic, no matter what the subject. Search ‘trees on farms’ or ‘agroforestry’ to find plenty of resource material. From the difference it’s making to climate change and poverty to its connections with fair-trade products and the tyres on your car, agroforestry is involved in many aspects of life. As 2011 is the United Nations International Year of Forests, it also makes the issue very current – which is always useful in gaining extra marks!

Classroom fun

Are you a teacher? If you work in education, why not add agroforestry to one of your lesson plans? It’s a great way to teach your students about sustainable farming, climate change, poverty reduction and biodiversity, all in one go.

A novel idea

If you fancy yourself as the next JK Rowling, there are plenty of short story competitions to enter, and agroforestry would be an interesting subject. If writing children’s stories is where your skills lie, then be sure to include the BusyTrees gang – they’d love to appear in your tale! But if adult literature is more your style, maybe a moving piece about trees on farms fighting poverty would suit you.

Pub quiz

If you go to pub quizzes, take your BusyTrees along and use them as a mascot. But don’t forget to take a picture and send it to us to support the campaign.
